Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Find Instructor collects, why we collect it and the choices you have. We process data in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

1. Data we collect

• Learners: name, email address, city and an optional mobile number.
• Instructors: name, email address, business name, WhatsApp number, city, postcode, areas covered, ADI number, lesson details, prices and an optional photo.
• Usage: sign-in times, how many times a profile is viewed and how many times its WhatsApp button is used.

2. How we use it

• To create and secure your account.
• To show approved instructor listings to learners and let learners contact instructors.
• To review instructor listings and keep the directory accurate.
• To send account emails, such as password resets and listing approval updates.

3. What other people can see

An approved instructor's business details, services, prices, city, postcode, photo and WhatsApp number are shown to signed-in learners. Learner details are never shown to instructors. A learner only shares their details with an instructor by messaging them.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We only share it with service providers who help us run the website, such as hosting and email providers, or when the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When an account is deleted, its profile, services and saved instructors are removed.

6. Your rights

You can see and update your details at any time in your account settings. You may also ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it. You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed for the website to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting forms from misuse.
